With the construction of the extremely long tunnels of today, rescue teams are required to have long duration breathing apparatus as part of their tunnel rescue equipment. The Dräger BG4, as the name suggests, is a four hour long closed circuit breathing apparatus. Released to the world in 1994 to replace the legendary BG174, the BG4 is the only device of it’s type the meets the requirements of both the EN and NIOSH standards.
