Portable Gas Detection
In an underground coal mine, low concentrations of methane as well as traces of carbon monoxide can always be found because coal is a decomposition product. Depending on the quality and location of the coal, these gases might be accompanied by hydrogen sulphide and carbon dioxide; the latter sometimes in extremely high concentrations. If a new seam is under construction, explosives are used which release fairly high concentrations of nitrous fumes and carbon monoxide.
Dräger offers a broad range of portable gas detectors as either personal or area monitors to avoid any health risk for the workers in an underground mine. Experienced people are happy to help the customers to find a tailor-made solution driven by the individual applications in the mining industry.
